Some tips for how to get cheap train tickets

Book further ahead, rather than last minute. Advance tickets may be available up to 12 weeks ahead of travel date, so book early - these tickets often carry the greatest savings and are therefore only available in limited quantities.

Avoid peak times. There are more savings available outside peak travel times.

Choose weekdays rather than weekends or Bank Holiday.

Decide exactly when you'd like to travel. Advance tickets are not flexible, so you must select which train you'll be travelling on before booking your tickets.
